The Fire
The Fire
What’s the fire work about? Ultimately it’s about life. And death. And the cycles of building things and tearing them down (or having them destroyed) that perforate our lives.
Everything is impermanent, everything is constantly changing. We control what we can and have to accept and bear witness to all of it either way. I want these fire pieces to feel familiar and uncanny, to visually represent that not all is lost despite the fact we’re losing this.
As with all my work, I like playing with nostalgia, light and color. I use memory, personal, and found photos as influence
Pigment-based, giclée print on 100% cotton rag, produced to museum conservation standards. Rich saturation, softly textured surface, and exceptional permanence.
